Our Story
How it all started
Darraweit Valley Cider was born out of a thirst for something different. Our Orchardist, Marc Serafino is a former head chef with a passion for creating new flavours. By experimenting with flavours that work, he loves creating something new that can elevate the traditional cider experience. In 2010, Marc started to get serious about cider. His intricate perception of flavours led to his distinct cider style.
Marc soon discovered that to make some of the best craft ciders you need to start with the right cider apples. So he set off to establish his own orchard. In 2014, the first apple trees were planted and Darraweit Valley Cider House was established in the stunning valleys of the Macedon Ranges. In our short and proud history, we’ve already started to shake things up. Our unique ciders have been recognised with a bunch of accolades and positive reviews.
How we're shaking things up
We’ve flipped cider making psychology on its head by focussing on the flavours first. Inspired by the way craft beer is made, we’ve experimented with real ingredients like hops, molasses, and even coffee. And we’re not done yet! Our thirst for creativity continues to inspire the creation of new cider styles.
What inspires us
As a small batch cider maker, we love to experiment. We’re here to do cider differently. Our passion for unique flavour pairings comes through with every batch of cider. Take a swig of ours and discover a new depth of character to cider that you’ve never experienced before.
